Rabat, the City of Light will host “AFRICAN WEEK”, combining African women’s leadership and the the 1st African ‘Prêt-à-Porter’ Salon.

“Working to make Rabat, the City of Light, the capital of African Fashion, attracting buyers from around the world, while promoting women’s leadership, fashion and craft for Africa. ”


The Salon Labo Ethnik will take place from June 3rd to 7th, 2020!

It is part of “THE AFRICAN WEEK” sponsored by Mr. Mehdi Quotbi, President of the National Foundation of Museums of Morocco.

This international event aims to showcase 12 women entrepreneurs and 50 highly talented creators from 54 countries in Africa.

Three entities have come together to create this Best of Africa exhibit:

The Ethnik Lab, the first African prêt-á-porter Salon founded in Paris in 2006. This Salon brings assembles and highlights well-established brands, old and new ready to wear clothing, fashion accessories, jewellery, leather goods and crafts.

The ASKE Trophies: the 4th edition, will reward the African woman for their ability to undertake, create and innovate

Finally the Charitable Diplomatic CircleAfrica Group: The Diplomatic Circle is a non-profit association, whose members are spouses of heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations accredited in Morocco. It provides aid in support of the poor, and for the health of women and vulnerable children.

Why Rabat?

Morocco, as part of its policy of strengthening and promoting South-South cooperation, has re-joined the African Union.

Debates around the political and social situation of Africa are omnipresent. The development of our continent is a significant global challenge within which the Kingdom of Morocco is playing a crucial role.

For this reason, the three organising entities have chosen Rabat, the Green City, the City of Light, the capital of culture
